Eric Earley was born in Ireland in 1923. Served in Royal Navy during WW2 and trained to be a teacher after the war. Emigrated to Australia in the 50's. Taught in New Guinea for four years in the 70's. Eric started to produce plays in this period at the school where he was headmaster. He died in September 1996.
ERic's play THE CUSTODIANS was written for stage for the Bicentenary. It was adapted for radio in 1991 and received a runner up prize in the Ian Reed Awards. It was published by Currency Press. THE CUSTODIANS? has since been adapted for screen.
