Matra Robertson

Matra Robertson is a graduate of the NIDA Playwright Studio, and her plays have been performed in Brazil and Australia. She has a longstanding involvement in the arts, specifically in writing for performance. Mesmerized, co-written with Peta Tait was staged in Brazil between 2010 and 2012 with an arts-funded Portuguese translation, Retrato de Augustine (Portrait of Augustine Arts Funded production, Brazil. Breath by Breath, co-written with Peta Tait about asylum seekers, received a 2003 Green Room Award Nomination for best production. Listed by the Australian Script Centre Collection No. 5 Australia’s best performance writing (2004). Her film scripts include Clare, a full length feature film commissioned by Anglican Church, Australia and Little Fish, developed as a finalist in the Playworks National Women Writers' Workshop and Australian Film and Television Office Mentorship Competition. About Time about loss and dying was read at NIDA. She is a published author of a book and articles.
