The play tells the story of a member of parliament who is diagnosed with manic-depressive illness (bipolar mood disorder) and the travail he experiences with the illness and from his parliamentary colleagues. Ending up in a mental hospital he meets a fellow sufferer who helps him get better. Unfortunately the friend doesn't improve. The play ends where it began at Williamstown Pier.
