Australian Plays is thrilled to partner with Island Magazine to co-commission three short ‘playlets’ from some of our most exciting playwrights; Barbara Hostalek, Julian Larnach and Dylan Van Den Berg. The short dramatic form is rare – playwrights are often concerned with ideas and questions that demand more space, more time to wrangle with complexities. But compression offers us a more impressionistic view – dramatic vignettes, slices of wider worlds and places – which can be just as impactful.
