Over the Moon is based on the experiences of many women interned during World War 2. It takes us on a year long journey in a women's POW camp in Java, and represents the suffering of over 70,000 women and children interned in the Dutch East Indies, as it was then.
It is about the women who escaped Singapore only to be torpedoed and then picked up and imprisoned, about the nurses who worked without equipment or medicines, about women who looked at the moon every night and dreamed of freedom.
