THE RIVER, THE DIRT, AND US

$5.40$15.00

Dee and Mark are two brisbane teenagers up to no good late one Friday night. In the mangroves along the banks of the Brisbane River they stumble upon a dinghy which they launch out into the dark waters of the river. They float with the current and soon encounter the ghost convict ship, The Murgo. The Murgo has come unstuck in time. Taking aboard Dee and Mark as prisoners, The Murgo flips back and forth in time randomly visiting the key events that have shaped Brisbane - the 1974 floods, the buiding of the Storey Bridge, the Battle of Brisbane. It is a journey of historical discovery and of learning one's place in history.
