A dark, yet humorous look at love, loss and life. Edward Harringey has lost all faith and trust in the human race, and decides to end it all by jumping off an old multi-storey factory. In the maintenance room on the roof he disturbs a squatter who demands to know what Edward is up to. What follows, sometimes dramatically sometimes hilariously, as these two explore their reasons for being on top of the building will determine whether they both live or die. This is a story about the need for companionship and the struggle to regain trust after all faith has been stripped away.

It's easy, you just fill them with soil, add water, then in couple of weeks - Zowie! - Alyssum...Tiny daisies. Thousands of pretty little flowers. They come sprouting out of their eyes, their ears, noses - they've got holes everywhere, you name it. You should see the crucifixion - Spectacular!
"Welcome to The Maintenance Room, a thrilling new play from award-winning playwright Gerry Greenland that doesn’t back away from life’s more evocative questions."
"From the 7th until the 30th of November, King Street Theatre presents “The Maintenance Roomâ€, a play of existential proportions. Written by Gerry Greenland and Directed by Allan Walpole, this play was clever, enticing and I walked away feeling very satisfied."
"Gerry Greenland’s script has an excellent plot that never gives room for any predictability, and its every twist and turn keeps us engaged and fascinated."
"Life is precious. It is also unpredictable, chaotic and fleeting, which is partly what makes it so precious. This is the main sentiment expressed in 'The Maintenance Room', a new play showing at King St Theatre."
