Avoiding his strange new world, an insecure young immigrant, Thomas, spends his days on the bus from Mirrabooka to Mundaring Weir, until he meets Moffy, a Welsh girl who introduces him to a local acting school full of young immigrants. Enraptured by Moffy, Thomas gets caught up in the venomous politics of amateur dramatics, leading to cruel betrayals, murder, a thrilling escape and a surreal struggle with redemption.
