There is only one character in this work: DONALD ‘DRIP-TRAY’ DUNNE. Hence it is a ‘monodrama’. He is a medicated lunatic, depressed and hypochondriacal. He sits in a wheelchair, sporting a grey blanket and some Scottish clobber. On each side are two small tables: one crowded with bottles of medications, the other with bottles of whiskey.

He rambles poignantly and ironically about past torments and disasters, whether domestic or social. At a deeper level the play captures the ruthless treatment of Scots by the English.
