Laila might have thousands of followers on her popular social media channel about poetry from the non-English speaking world, but at her academically competitive multicultural high school, she feels like everyone hates her. When Laila's rival, School Captain Misha, enlists their classmates to play a cruel trick on her, Laila suddenly disappears, leading to an uncomfortable journey for the truth about her suffocating family, cultural expectations and double life she's been forced to live.
