
TIM JONES is an arts organisation leader, theatre director, arts programmer, actor and acting teacher dedicated to developing and presenting new work for the stage. As Artistic Director of Sydney’s Seymour Centre and Australian Theatre for Young People he collaborated with leading playwrights to direct premiere productions of new work, including:

- Tom Holloway – The Museum of Modern Love
- Suzie Miller – Transparency
- Debra Oswald – Stories in the Dark and Skate
- Louis Nowra – Beatrice
- Michael Gow – 17
- Patrick Marber – The Musicians (in collaboration with National Theatre of Great Britain)
- Patricia Cornelius – Boy Overboard
At ATYP, he led the conception and development of Fresh Ink, a comprehensive national program to develop the skills of next generation playwrights. Through this program he worked with many young, emerging writers who have now become leading voices in Australian theatre. 20 years on, Fresh Ink remains one of ATYP’s core artistic programs.
In addition, Tim has over 20 years’ experience as a programmer of cross-genre live performance, showcasing new Australian and international productions and in venues ranging from Sydney Opera House to The Old Fitz. He has led transformative arts initiatives and programs from small scale residencies in the remotest parts of Australia to delivering major multi-arts presentation seasons within events such as Sydney World Pride and Sydney Festival.
