Helayne Short is a freelance writer and emerging writer of plays, short stories, and poetry. In 2016 her first play, Dawn’s Age, was shortlisted for the prestigious Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award. She has been a recipient of a Tasmanian Regional Arts Grant Quick Response Grant and an Erin Thomas Regional Arts Grant to work on Dawn’s Age with her dramaturg and fellow creative, Francesca Smith.
