Stephen Orr

Stephen Orr is a novelist, essayist and playwright. His first play, Attempts to Draw Jesus, was performed by the Walker Players in Adelaide in 1993. His play for voices, Westward Ho!, premiered at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe, performed by an international cast under the direction of Guy Masterson. His nine novels have been nominated for awards such as the Miles Franklin (twice), Commonwealth Writers' Prize and Dublin International Literary Award (twice). His novel Time's Long Ruin was adapted into the opera Innocence (State Opera SA).
