Julie has written eleven books and several short stories for children and young adults. Her work includes stories in the Choose Your Own Ever After series (Hardie Grant Egmont), that let readers decide how the story goes, romance titles in the Smitten series (Hardie Grant Egmont) for teens, and an adventure series for young environmentalists called Hazard River (Ford Street Publishing). Julie regularly visit schools and festivals to talk about books and writing and is a regular panelist on ABC Brisbane’s evening programs. Prior to writing fiction Julie was a television news reporter, working in Australia, Hong Kong and London. As the Crow Flies is her first play.
