Patrick Van Der Werf has been writing plays for about a dozen years and has had ten produced. Breath is his most recent. In this century: Owl Song was presented at the 2001 National Playwrights' Conference; Presence was co-winner of the Griffin 2002 Playwriting Award, and was produced by Griffin the same year, under the direction of Ros Horin (it won a 'Glugs' award for best new Australian play of 2002); Moon Babies was performed at La Mama in 2002 and 2003, directed by Peta Hanrahan. Moon Babies was on the 2003 VCE drama syllabus and has been published by Currency Press.
