Becca Hurd

Becca Hurd is a writer, actor and comedian originally from America's teeniest state, Rhode Island. In 2018, Becca moved to Australia to receive her MFA in Writing for Performance from the National Institute of Dramatic Art. After graduating, Becca toured her debut one-woman play, The Other Side of 25, across Australia and the USA. While adapting it into a feature, she won the Austin Film Festival Virtual Pitch competition in 2020. That same year she wrote, co-directed and produced a short-film adaptation of the story. In 2022, Becca debuted her sophomore play, The Long Haul, which was nominated for two Sydney Fringe awards. In 2024, she premiered her third play, Probe, to 5-star reviews at the Old Fitz Theatre. Today, Becca balances her time between working in TV production and writing for both theatre and screen. She has worked on shows such as Mr Inbetween (FX), Class of ’07 (Amazon), and Erotic Stories (SBS). In 2025, Becca was selected to attend the CineStory Feature Fellowship in California where she received professional mentorship. She also completed a placement at STUDIOCANAL through the Australian Writer’s Guild. Becca loves to travel and has visited 38 countries so far.
