Stephen Kakavoulis

Stephen Kakavoulis is a playwright , actor and director in theatre. He was born in Sydney on 1977 but moved to Greece when he was still a baby. He graduated the New Hellenic Theater drama School and the Film School AKMI. Since then he has played several roles in many plays. In 2002 he was selected for a participation in Lara Croft II (opening scene). In 2012 he received a theatrical award for his performance in Martin Sherman’s play BENT as Horst. Eight of his plays have been staged in Greece. Three of them have been published in Australia. He has held the leading role of Jimmy Porter in Look Back in Anger and in BIRDY play. He has also directed five documentaries and three short films. He has also directed and plays in the web series FACES. Summer of 2019 he was cast in the leading role in feature film EXORIA. The film won the 2nd best film award in the Greek London Film Festival. Has received distribution in Canada and USA. Stephen was nominated as best actor in the Maverick Awards. His play Children of the Father won best play for 2012.
