Jodi Gallagher holds an MA in Creative Writing (Research) from the University of Melbourne and is currently completing a PhD at the same university. Her plays include Web (LaMama 1995/Junction Theatre 1996), Banshee (LaMama 1996), Elegy (Playbox 2000. Published by Currency Press), and Victory Girls (LaMama 2000), and she wrote a libretto for OzOpera, Remembering Rosie (City Life Project 2001). She has published short stories and scholarly papers. Her current research focuses on the embodiment and subjectivity of the witch in the nineteenth century. She is writing a new text for performance which draws on visual sources such as Maya Deren’s collaboration with Marcel Duchamp, Witch’s Cradle (1945).
Jodi is currently working on several long form autofiction pieces, and a novella.
