SUZANNE BLACKWOOD-SEWELL

Suzanne Blackwood-Sewell

Suzanne Blackwood-Sewell studied drama at school, and has always been a part of community theatre groups. Sue started play writing when she came to live in Australia from the UK and has had many successes on the South East Qld Festival circuit, both writing and directing and occasionally acting.

She was awarded 3rd place at Noosa Arts Playwriting Competition in 2003, for the controversial one act play Still Life

Sue's proudest achievement is her play with music The Fall and Rise of Mr Scrooge which played to full houses at Noosa and Brisbane in 2013 and 2015. Sue wrote the script, music and lyrics for this production.

Her melodrama A Turkey's Tail was performed at the BBC in London as part of their Children in Need fund raising programme.

Once Bitten is based on characters and situations known to her, although the story is mainly fictitious! The play was awarded 2nd place overall in the Edythe Brook-Cooper inaugural playwriting competition and also gained the Audience Choice award.

Sue is a founder member of Miranda's Dressing Room, a small festival touring company, a member of Noosa Arts Theatre and Buderim Amateur Theatre Inc.
