Jane e Thompson

Jane e Thompson is a Melbourne-based playwright. Her play FIERCE premiered at Theatre Works in 2018, directed by Alice Darling and will have its Sydney premiere at the Old Fitz, directed by Janine Watson, from 20 March to 13 April, 2019.

Although Jane now identifies as a playwright, she’s spent the last 20 years in theatre as an actor, playwright, director, costume designer, dramaturg, spectator, sometimes student, sometimes autodidact.

In 2016 she completed a Master of Writing for Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts; and was a recipient of the Besen Family Artist Program Writers’ Development Workshop at the Malthouse Theatre with mentors Mark Pritchard and Declan Greene.

Jane is currently working on Love Monster, developed with the support of the Australia Council, Darebin Arts Speakeasy and the City of Melbourne, with additional support from The Voice in My Hands, La Mama, and Small and Loud at The Channel, Arts Centre Melbourne.
