Kristen is an internationally produced Australian playwright, director and educator specialising in theatre for young people. She has ten plays published and is a SACE recommended playwright whose work is widely used across the world in school drama programs. Her play BULLY! and its accompanying Educational Resource has been used in multiple Anti-Bullying programs in schools in Australia and Internationally. Over the past four years, more than 600 productions of her plays have taken place across five continents and every Australian state.
Her works are often featured in the UIL One Act Play Competitions in the USA where they have gone on to win multiple awards at all levels. Kristen has presented at National and State Drama teacher conferences and has extensive experience directing large-scale student productions, leading ensemble-based performance processes and delivering workshops in performance, scriptwriting and theatre-making.
Kristen’s practice bridges professional playwriting, directing and secondary drama education, with particular focus on Shakespearean adaptations, historical dramaturgy, ensemble performance structures and curriculum-aligned theatre-making. Her work demonstrates fluency across a wide range of theatrical styles and conventions, integrating both classical and contemporary forms within accessible ensemble performance.
