Finn Ó Branagáin

Finn Ó Branagáin is an award-winning writer, dramaturg and director. She is drawn to using mythology to tell true and contemporary stories. Her independent and collaborative works invite important conversations that can be hard to have. Growing up on Larrakia land, Darwin, she graduated from NIDA's Graduate Diploma of Dramatic Arts (Playwriting) in 2012, and since then, her work has toured nationally and internationally. Notably, her recent production, 'Scaredy Cat,' in collaboration with Terrapin Puppet Theatre, reached nearly 17,000 children during its tour of schools in Tasmania and the Sydney Opera House. Finn also co-created 'You Know We Belong Together' with Julia Hales and Clare Watson, a critically acclaimed work that toured internationally, including the Edinburgh International Arts Festival, the London Southbank Centre and Sydney Opera House after encore seasons from Perth Festival with Black Swan State Theatre Company. In addition to her creative pursuits, Finn is the Artistic Director and CEO of Outloud, a social impact youth arts organisation on Darug land in Western Sydney. Finn also supports emerging artists in telling their stories and is open to collaborations. She sees herself as a big hype woman for courage, hope, and playfulness.
