Elodie Boal

Elodie is an award-winning actor, director and playwright; picking up a Gold Coast Golden Palm Award in 2017 for her portrayal of Cherry in Beenleigh Theatre Group’s COSI and sweeping the Southeast Queensland Drama Festival Circuit in 2015, achieving over 40 awards (including Best New Australian Script, Best Director and Best Production) with her original adaptation Wondered.

In 2019, she received five Del Arte Chart awards, including Best Actress, Best Direction and Best Production, for her work as actress, director and producer of X-Stacy. This production also won the Gold Coast Palm Award for Best Community Theatre Production, and Elodie received a nomination for Best Director. She has worked with La Boite Theatre Company as a director with their debut Twenty-One program.

In 2018, Elodie’s one-act plays, Update and The Descent, toured with her independent theatre group, Mira Ball Productions, and were awarded a total 28 awards. In the same year, Elodie was nominated for the Seven News Young Achievers Awards for her work in empowering emerging artists and creating Australian theatre. Some of Elodie’s other penned works include Crush, Lights, Camera, Spandex! and The Black Cat.

Elodie is also a freelance reviewer, journalist and founded the new digital media platform Theatre Haus, working as its Creative Director. Her acting credits include COSI, Pride and Prejudice, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Summer of the Alien’s, The Importance of Being Earnest, Are You Being Served and X-Stacy.

Elodie’s directorial credits also include The O Moment, X-Stacy, Jekyll and Hyde, Never Give Up and her own one-act plays. In 2021 will study her Masters of Theatre (Directing) with the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).
