Amber Spooner

Amber Spooner is an Australian playwright, screenwriter and actor.

Completing a Bachelor of Acting for Stage and Screen at Charles Sturt University in 2015 she has worked consistently in theatre and television both in Australia and overseas.
Her performance credits include: ‘Street: a Devised Performance’ at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, the film ‘REAP’ with production company, Wordstation. She has worked with the theatre-in-education company: ‘Class Act Theatre’ performing for school aged children all over Sydney. She is currently working as a solo performer with ‘The Switch’ and ‘Nightwalk’, an interactive puzzle game show that tours NSW. Most recently Amber performed with Streamed Shakespeare in their productions of ‘Henry IV Part 1’ and ‘Henry IV Part 2’ in role of Lord Mowbray as well as a streamed reading of ‘Hamlet’ in the role of Horatio.

Her first screenplay ‘King of Anything’ was written and produced while at University, having its international premiere at the Oklahoma International Film Festival. As a playwright she has had work in development with The Street Theatre, KXT and Script In Hand. She is the lead writer for a WW2 TV drama and is currently working with Auspol Media as a media agent and head of publishing for their literary division. The Various Methods of Escape is her first work for the stage.
