Sean Guy is a Darwin-based author, playwright, and screenwriter. As a young writer he won his regional category for the NT Young Author Awards three years consecutively, and later went on to publish several novels. These include Malediction: The Cursed Play – a Shakespearean murder mystery inspired by “the Scottish play”; and The Firebringer and Voodoo Games, the first and second novels respectively in Sean’s urban-fantasy thriller series, the Tower City Chronicles.
Sean has written a number of minor plays which have been performed across the NT, but most notable is Last Call, a subversive ensemble tragicomedy which will both amuse and shock audiences. In early 2021 Last Call was performed in a Sydney theatre, and is scheduled for a run with Darwin Theatre Company later in the year. Sean’s other writing credits include a full-length feature film (pre-production) for SD Productions; and a number of short films, live shows, and sketch comedies, available to view on the Big Dog Salad YouTube page.
By day Sean can be found working at his local bookshop, where he has more reading material than he can possibly work through – though he’s having a lot of fun trying.
