DALEY RANGI

Daley Rangi

Daley Rangi (Te Ātiawa) is an eclectic multidisciplinary Māori artist generating unpredictable and uncomfortable works. A proud advocate for neurodiversity and bodily integrity, they evade categorisation and invade the status quo, speaking truth to power and setting hierarchies alight. They write plays and poetry, create participatory live performance, and paint self-portraits and mountains.

Their key works include Lipstuck, Tataraimaka Moana (Beautiful Place by the Sea), Takatāpui, Porotēhi, Fever, and Curiosity, which was shortlisted for the 2020 Griffin Award and Patrick White Playwrights Award. They currently reside, work, and make between Boorloo on Whadjuk Noongar boodja, and Warrang on Gadigal country, and they were born near Ngā Motu in Taranaki, on Te Ika-a-Māui, Aotearoa. Mā pango, mā whero, ka oti ai te mahi.

CURIOSITY by Daley Rangi

We acknowledge that we live and create on unceded lands. We pay our respects to the First Peoples of Australia, and to their elders past, present and future.
