Chi Nguyen

Chi is a graduate of The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) where she received the Grace Marion Wilson Scholarship for Excellence in Acting.

Chi’s most recent TV credits are the recurring role of Megan Vu in Amazon Prime’s original series Class of ’07, Jeanette Dao in Amazon Prime’s 2023 original series The Wilds, and Juliana in ABC’s FISK in which Chi performed in and co-wrote two episodes with Kitty Flanagan. She also starred in the first ever Vietnamese-Australian comedy web series Phi and Me, released worldwide in June 2019, and played Au Pair in Victoria Thane’s web series Sonia and Cherry.

2022 saw Chi perform in LAURINDA (dir. Petra Kalive), making it her Melbourne Theatre Company debut. She is continuing to develop her new musical called Miss Saigon-Wrong, which has been receiving support from Creative Victoria, City of Melbourne’s SIGNAL Young Creatives Lab and Brimbank Council’s Be Bold Residency.

In 2019, Chi wrote and performed a season of her debut solo comedy cabaret LOTUS (Best Cabaret – Melbourne Fringe 2019 Nominee) all about her life as a Vietnamese immigrant in Australia, which was developed through Chi’s Artist Residency with SIGNAL. Other theatrical credits include Doctor Tam (lead) in The Shift Theatre’s Hallowed Ground: Women Doctors In War (toured with Regional Arts Victoria and internationally to Edinburgh Fringe 2019); Lead Player in Arena Theatre Company’s AIR RACE (dir. Christian Leavesley), Khanh Le (lead) in Hoa Pham’s VIVID (dir. Wolf Heidecker) and Mother Courage in VCA’s Mother Courage and Her Children (dir. Chris Kohn). Characters Chi has worked on in previous script developments are Nim (lead) in COPYCAT (with Elbow Room and Polyglot Theatre), Grace (lead) in SECURITY (Malthouse Theatre, Tower Residency) and Duyen (lead) in FLAKE (Red Stitch Actor’s Theatre INK Program).

Prior to coming to Australia, Chi undertook Acting for Camera Intensive with Aaron Toronto, Acting for Stage Intensive with Meritorious Vietnamese Artist Ngoc Hiep, and MC/TV Host Intensive with Michael Castengera at Saigon International Film School.

Chi is furthermore an accomplished contemporary singer, pianist and the Winner of the LAVISA Music Feast singing competition 2015.
