Candace Miles

CANDACE MILES is an award-winning theatre-maker and actor, graduating in 2015 from the Victorian College of the Arts. Upon finishing actor training at the VCA, Candace co-founded ensemble company Three Birds Theatre which has created and toured original theatre shows across the nation. Roles performed in these productions include Laertes in ‘Enter Ophelia’ (La Mama 2018, National Gallery of Australia dir. John Kachoyan), Clementine in ‘LadyCake’ (Poppy Seed Theatre Festival 2016, Nati Frinj Bienniale) & Madeline in Green Room nominated show ‘Three Birds One Cock’, (FRISK Melbourne Fringe 2015; Adelaide Fringe 2016; Metanoia 2016, Regional Arts Victoria 2017 & 2019). Other acting credits include ‘The Three Graces’ (Theatre Works, dir. Katie Cawthorne), ‘Lifetime Guarantee’ (Theatre Works, dir. John Sheedy), ‘Cloudstreet’ (dir. Julian Fuentes- Reta), ‘Stage Door’ (dir. Justine Campbell) and ‘Fewer Emergencies’ (dir. Lara Kerestes). Candace is also trained in contemporary jazz singing and is interested in exploring within her arts practice spaces and forms where performance, voice and music intersect. Her musical work ‘Vanishing Act’ was awarded Best Cabaret of Melbourne Fringe 2016, as well as being Green Room Award nominated for categories of Best Writing, Best Ensemble, Most Innovative Use of Form, & Best Musical Direction.
