Ross Barrett is a former scientist who began writing for the stage in 1987. He is currently a Committee Member of the South Australian Branch of the Australian Writers' Guild (AWG), and a past Chair of the South Australian Writers' Theatre (SAWT).
His produced plays include: Suns of Home (1992), Love in the Chook House (1993), Sherlock Holmes and the Coming of the Fairies (1994), Billy Hughes (1996 and 1999), How We Beat the Favourite (2002 and 2003), and Footsteps (2005). Two of his scripts were developed by the State Theatre Company of SA under a mentorship provided by the Australian Writers’ Guild.
