Gillian Berry

Gillian Berry was born in South Africa and educated in the UK, France and Holland. She graduated from the University of Natal Kwa Zulu with an honours degree in drama and literature. Gillian worked across art forms as a writer, director, broadcaster, dramaturge and teacher. She wrote for the ABC television series For The Juniors and for children’s story programs Let’s Join In and Sing and Play. Her dramatisation of Christina Stead’s novel For Love Alone (five episodes for ABC Radio Drama) was a finalist in the New York Radio Awards, and she dramatised the same novel for the stage. Gillian was commissioned by the Perth Theatre Company for their production Welcome to Dullsville.
