Sally is a nationally recognised director, writer, dramaturg & producer working across the performing arts. Productions of her work have been presented nationally and internationally and been a winner/finalist for Helpmann Awards, Green Room & Blue Room Awards, Equity Guild Awards, Ausdance Awards amongst others. Sally has created works for companies including: Sydney Theatre Company, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, Deckchair Theatre, Black Swan Theatre Company, Perth Theatre Company, Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre, Belvoir Theatre, The Flying Fruitfly Circus, The National Institute of Circus Arts, NIDA & WAAPA amongst others. She is a former artistic director of Playworks Australia & Stages WA.
She received an Australia Council Dramaturgy fellowship in 2006, a Creative Fellowship from the WA Department of Culture & the Arts in 2008 and was a member of the Theatre Board of the Australia Council 2001-5. She is director of Steamworks Arts (since 2001). Sally was a core artist with Performing Lines WA 2008-2016. She has been Guest Director at Curtin University, ECU, WAAPA, NAISDA & NICA amongst others.

In 2015 She was Asialnk resident artist at Taipei International Artist Village where she created Ghost Project:JHIH.
She is Artistic Director of MAXIMA creating FEARLESS which premiered in 2017.
