Benjamin Schostakowski

Benjamin Schostakowski graduated from Directing at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2013. Benjamin directed and wrote A Tribute of Sorts (2012) for La Boite Indie, winner of four Matilda Awards (including Best Independent Production and Best New Australian Work). In 2011, Benjamin was appointed an Associate Artist with Queensland Theatre Company.

Queensland) (as Assistant Director – dir. David Berthold), A Spectacular of Sorts (World Theatre Festival: Brisbane Powerhouse), Genesis (Brisbane Festival) (dir. Ben Knapton), The Glorious Nosebleed (Metro Arts) and What’s Wrong With Gregor Post? (Brisbane Festival). For NIDA: Klutz, June 20,30,40 by Chris Isaacs (Griffin Play Project), Fireface by Marius Von Mayenburg, A Respectable Wedding by Bertolt Brecht, The Bear by Anton Chekhov.

Benjamin was Artistic Director of the Festival of Australian Student Theatre from 2010-2013 and is a current PhD Candidate with QUT, undertaking practice-led research in contemporary theatre-making. Benjamin is the Artistic Director of Monsters Appear.
