Tony was born in Kilmore and educated at Assumption College. After a brief and despised period working in the financial markets, he studied writing at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and then scriptwriting at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. Plays he has written include The John Wayne Principle, The Virgin Mim, The Unlikely Prospect of Happiness, The Great and The Grenade. He wrote and directed the short films Kick to Kick, Seduction 101, and The Beat Manifesto which won an AFI Award for Best Short Film Screenplay. In 2002, he wrote and directed The Rage in Placid Lake, his adaptation of his stage play The Café Latte Kid. It won the Audience Award at the Melbourne International Film Festival and won the AFI Award for Best Screenplay and two AWGIE Awards. Tony is currently in post production on ASHBY, an original screenplay which he wrote and directed. His television writing credits include The Secret Life of Us, Love My Way, Spirited, Offspring, Tangle and Puberty Blues seasons 1 & 2. Tony was EP/showrunner on Puberty Blues series 2.
