Julian Hobba

Julian Hobba is a theatre writer and director and the Artistic Director of Aspen Island Theatre Company, a contemporary Australian theatre company in Canberra. Julian has been involved in independent and professional theatre in Melbourne and Canberra since 2005. His production credits include I do, in Caroline Springs (Chapel off Chapel, dir. Peter J Adams), Delicacy (Trades Hall, dir. Wesley Enoch), Honey Bunny’s Sagittarian Full Moon Finale (Northcote Town Hall, self-directed) and Bartleby (The Street Theatre, self-directed). In early 2015 Julian will direct a creative development of Kill Climate Deniers, by David Finnigan, for Aspen Island Theatre Company. The company’s first production credit was Bartleby, starring Max Cullen, in August 2014. Julian has been involved in The Hive since 2012 and is also currently part of the Expand mentoring program for theatre artists in the South East NSW, Southern Tablelands and ACT regions.
