Emily Calder is a graduate of NIDA’s Playwrights Studio and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney. In 2014 her play Cough was produced at 107 Projects, directed by James Dalton. Previous works include Flightfall with the Tamarama Rock Surfers (dir. Mark Grentell) and Intersection (NIDA Playwrights Studio, dir Morgan Dowsett). In 2014 she was a resident writer in Somersault Theatre’s Risk Factory. Emily has written for Griffin Theatre Company’s 24-Hour Play Generator and has shown work at Griffringe. She has been shortlisted for the Edward Albee Inscription Award, Playwriting Australia’s Re-Gen Seed Commission, and Radio National’s Ian Reed Foundation Fellowship.
