A LITTLE BIT OF SOUL

$5.40$15.00

Specially written for senior students at Damascus College in Ballarat this is a musical theatre piece which is a mix of monologues, soul songs, group scenes, comedy and drama. The play features six female relatives who meet regularly at a local café to discuss their lives. Another character, a street artist, listens to their stories and becomes involved in their lives. These scenes are interspersed with 10 great soul songs including Respect, Try a Little Tenderness, and I’ve Been Loving You (Too Long to Stop Now). The themes of the songs tie in with issues raised in the dramatic interludes. A Little Bit of Soul is also suitable for adult performances and has been successfully mounted for a professional season in the past. Rights for the songs can be obtained through APRA.
