Adam and Eve is a love story. Eve, a studious final year medical student, meets Adam, a lovable larrikin from outback Queensland, in the medical school library at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1999. The attraction is immediate and they soon find themselves caught up in a whirlwind romance. Unfortunately, their relationship is complicated by Adam’s long and difficult battle with testicular cancer… a battle which Adam ultimately loses, in November 2000.

The play is based on the true story of the playwright’s boyfriend, Adam, who died of testicular cancer at the age of 22. Special attention has been paid to keeping the details as historically accurate as possible. The names of people and places have not been altered.
