The Great Grantham rugby team has been on a losing streak for as long as anyone can remember, and the captain Sam Sevenoaks is desperate to turn things around. When a new coach turns up, with an offer too good to resist, Sevenoaks jumps at the chance.
As the team starts to win, Sevenoaks' problems begin to mount. He must break more rules and the trust of his teammates to succeed. Winning comes at a very high price.
As the Crow Flies explores the themes of ambition, consequences and identity. It delves into Australia's sporting culture and the pressure on young people to succeed.
The play is a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth, with Brisbane's murky colonial past invading the present and bringing with it an air of Gothic menace.
