"You’re destroying everything. You’re out of control! Little monster! Monster child!"
Desiree Din is an angry little girl. Sick of being told she is too young to understand her family’s problems, she fights with her mother and battles with her brother and sister. Out of her frustration she creates the Red Forest – a world where strange, mutant creatures seek Desiree as their leader in their mission to stop a dangerous contamination. Finally, Desiree has a chance to be in charge. But is it really that simple?
Written by one of Australia’s most imaginative young playwrights, Desiree Din and the Red Forest reminds us what it’s like to be young and powerless in a rapidly changing world and how we all need to take responsibility for our environments.
