Fly in - Fly out explores the lives of a group of people working in a fictional gold-mining camp in a remote area of Western Australia. Geologist Gillian Marshall is reluctant to return to the industry following a brush with death, but is "persuaded" by her ex-lover, the company director Mark Leonard, to try to find new gold deposits at the marginal mine, Mount Kidman. Life at the mine is part presure-cooker, part gold-fish bowl. And how do you keep your 'real life' going in the city?
