Three intertwined stories exploring themes of sense of place, identity, belonging and prejudice viewed through the eyes of a Slavic horse spirit, the Domovoi. 'Homelands' follows the plight of two young refugees from war torn Europe trying to find a sense of home in Australia. 'Sam's Story' follows a night in the life of a runaway on the streets of the inner city. 'Suburban Stories' explores notions of home from the point of view of young people in the Sydney suburbs.

This is a good play for students to put their own stories into the existing framework. The playwright is very receptive to this.
