OUT OF FEAR

$5.40$15.00

Out of Fear is a provocative work, which juxtaposes subjects of love, divorce, and isolation, highlighting the savage personal disasters that arise despite following the expectations of society

Set on a dirt road near the out back of New South Wales, Travis, a man plagued by guilt and remorse, tries desperately to create a new home before his family arrives. The sole witness to his plight is a mysterious unnamed man whom Travis treats like an old friend.
Travis reveals the reason he’s in the outback is to commit suicide due to his imminent divorce, requested by his wife Lara. He plans to simply wander into the desert to die after settling his argument with Lara. The Man tries to dissuade Travis but his mind is made up. His only wish is that The Man look after his family after he’s gone. Once The Man agrees to this, Travis takes his leave.
A few days later, Lara appears, but she has sent her son’s away. The Man pleads with Lara to tell him the children’s whereabouts but she refuses. Travis returns and confronts Lara about the boys and the divorce. In the conversation that ensues, Travis is overcome by guilt and confesses to killing his family. The final scene reveals that Travis is still in the apartment where he killed his family attempting to come to terms with what he done.
