SEED BOMB

$5.40$15.00

Seed Bomb is a comedy about identity; who we are and how we choose to live.

Kat hates living in the city. She dreams of moving to a pretty cottage in the country, growing her own food and living quietly ever after. Then one night, while sleep walking, she’s almost killed by a bike riding anarchist guerrilla gardener who drops a bag of seed bombs that were destined to transform a vacant lot into a food forest.

In guerrilla gardening terms seed bombs are radical projectiles of hope. The concept emerged out of New York City when owners of vacant lots fenced off their properties to keep gardeners out. These green guerrillas turned rejection into advantage by creating small balls of seeds and soil in throwable form.

Without her partner Toby’s knowledge, Kat joins these urban warriors on their clandestine night time activities. As they turn chain link fences into living salads, verges into veggie gardens and reclaim the local golf course for the Commons, the seeds of her own political awakening explode into life.

By the end of the play, Kat comes to the realisation that although the local might not be ideal, it is where you are and where you must plant.
