SOLITARY ANIMALS

$5.40$14.00

Do you avenge intolerable crimes or break the cycle of violence?

Elaine Acworth’s Solitary Animals takes two of the most confronting themes of the 1990s and crashes them head-on. Both are sexual crimes – the use of AIDS as a deadly weapon, and the rape camps of the Bosnian War. Each of the four ordinary characters must face issues of life and death but respond with their own individual coping mechanism.

Blue wants revenge, Amela wants to choose, Grev wants to forget and Laurel wants to understand why. Do you avenge intolerable crimes or break the cycle of violence?

Solitary Animals was first commissioned and produced by Sydney Theatre Company for New Stages premiering at Wharf 2 Theatre, Walsh Bay on July 17, 1996.
