The Ghost Writer

When her child is murdered, Brihanna wants the killer publicly exposed - in a best selling novel. But for the truth to be told, she needs a ‘ghost’ to write it.

Follow the interlocking lives of Brihanna, her ghostwriter Claudia, Claudia’s lover, and her publisher father, all of whom are affected by the young child’s murder. As each searches for the truth, they are haunted by the past and their need for intimacy.

The Ghost Writer is a compelling tale by award-winning Victorian playwright, Ross Mueller.

REVIEW: THE GHOST WRITER | MELBOURNE THEATRE COMPANY

PAUL ANDREW, AUSTRALIAN STAGE, 19 MARCH 2007

"Outstanding ensemble performances and inspirational writing imbibed with haunting melancholy and an exacting mystique that earmarks Mueller as a fresh new voice of Australian Theatre."

REVIEW: THE GHOST WRITER, ROSS MUELLER, MTC, MARCH 7, 2007

KATE HERBERT THEATRE REVIEWS, 7 MARCH 2007

"Mueller’s script is more conservative and less abstract than his previous work but it retains his capable crafting of a story and slow revelation of the underlying truth of the characters. His dialogue is intelligent, well observed and often very funny."

ARTICLE: FLESHING OUT THE GHOST WRITER

ROBIN USHER, THE AGE, 5 MARCH 2007

""The dialogue is sharp and theatrical, the themes large and resonant, the characters compelling. My test of a good new play is that I come out wishing I had written it myself. This one certainly passed that test," says Williamson, who attended a reading of it at last year's playwrights' conference in Perth."
