All she ever wanted was to be crowned the Glasshouse District's Pineapple Queen — wearing a magnificent dress, riding on a float down the main street of Nambour, waving at an adoring crowd, and catching the eye of a handsome young man — a glamorous new life away from the confines of the farm she grew upon with her cruel father. Never in her wildest dreams did she believe it would actually come true. The Pineapple Queen is a darkly comic tale that is at once poetic fable and danse macabre.
