WILD CHERRIES looks at the lives of a small group of people whose labour is exploited and whose freedoms have been curtailed. Against their wishes, the group is soon to be broken up, its members forced into uncertain futures. Together, they decide to make a stand and change their fate.

EXTRACT: The bus was very crowded. Some women, a few children. But mostly men like me. Everyone was afraid. When people are afraid they all look the same. Eyes like glass. I stood near the back, my shoulders touching the person each side of me. One of them was trembling. He had a fever I think.
