Australian Plays Transform is the only organisation in Australia to focus exclusively on the professional development of playwrights, new plays and dramaturgs.

We know that the making of a play is an exciting process, sometimes long, always unique. Ours is a collaborative art and as such it accelerates and slows, it is read aloud, thrown on the floor with actors, it is shut away in solitude with a playwright, a screen and sometimes a silent scream of frustration, only to come back out again with fire in its belly and words begging to be spoken again.

Our programs and the connections we forge with playwright’s are long-term. They champion the playwright, empowering artists to write with ambition, scale and to take risks, because we know that stories have the ability to reflect and reshape our world.
