Little Red places the classic fairytale of Little Red Riding Hood into a modern context of youth party culture and risk-taking. The original fairytale was written as a warning to young people, especially girls, to do as they are told, don’t take risks, or suffer dire consequences.
In a highly physical, theatrical, ensemble-style piece, Little Red gives a modernized version of the classic story, with various sub-plots exploring issues of risk-taking and youth culture.
The play was developed with Year 10 drama students at Ballarat Grammar school. It is an ensemble piece, and cast size and gender ratio can vary greatly.
