Monologue Collection
APT’s Monologue Collection highlights some of the most compelling Australian playwriting for solo performers and Drama students. This collection contains a range of monologues from full-length solo works, while others are contained within ensemble plays and may require some crafting on the part of students.
Narragunnawali Indigenous Plays Lists
Australian Plays Transform has worked with Narragunnawali to compile this collections of plays written by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander playwrights from the 1970s to right now, combined with suggested additional resources.
Sustainability Collection
This collection is built around the cross-curriculum priority of Sustainability. The collection outlines many recommended scripts for stages Primary through Tertiary, and collates education resources, playwrights’ notes, and other recommendations – all put together with a quick overview of each play for easy scanning.
Australian Plays in the English Classroom
Bringing a playscript to life in the English classroom can be a daunting task. Our new collection of education resources are designed to help English teachers select and teach Australian plays, with a particular focus on students in Years 7-10.
Hear it from the Playwright – HSC Collection
A collection of exclusive interviews centres the playwrights of four HSC drama texts, giving insight into their work, process, and ideas. It’s an excellent way to get students curious and engaged about the creative process from idea to script.
The Pride Collection
When you combine some of the freshest plays in the APT catalogue with seminal plays recommended by industry leaders, you’ve got The Pride Collection. It’s a fantastic starting point for teaching and students looking to delve into theatre which includes and celebrates LGBTQ+ stories. The education resources for these works are still growing, so there’ll be more to keep coming back for!
Capturing History Collection
A collection which contends with key questions about what it means to be Australian – and who gets to decide. With broad recommendations including First Nations stories, migrant stories, colonial/settler stories, ANZAC stories, and political stories, this collection explores how playwriting captures history- at all stages of education.
APT’s Online Teaching Resources
These education resources have been created for the online learning world. You may know some of the selected plays and some may be new. It’s always great to make discoveries. Whichever is the case, Australian Plays Transform recommends that teachers access and read a script before selecting it for their students. Each script and the accompanying activities are designed as a mini unit of work or series of lessons for students to do solo, in pairs and in collaboration and take place over several days or more.
